Joel Brandenstein (born 26 February 1984 in Ratingen) is a German pop singer and songwriter who built his following from scratch via YouTube, where piano-accompanied cover versions of German ballads drew millions of views before he released a single note of original material. His 2017 debut album "Emotionen" reached #1 in the German charts, and subsequent releases - including the 2020 duet "Der Himmel reißt auf" with Vanessa Mai and the 2023 album "Schwarz & Bunt" - have kept him a fixture in German-language pop.
