John Jones is an English folk singer and melodeon player, born in Aberystwyth and raised in Yorkshire, best known as the co-founding lead vocalist of Oysterband - a British folk-rock band active since the late 1970s that released over 20 albums and played major festivals across the UK, Europe and Canada. The band retired from touring in 2025 after a farewell run, and Jones has since formed a travelling trio with longtime Oysterband associates Ray Cooper and Al Scott, continuing to perform under the banner 'The Song Goes On'.
