About

Jools Holland (born Julian Miles Holland, 24 January 1958, Blackheath, London) is an English pianist, bandleader, composer and television presenter. He first came to prominence as a member of ska-pop group Squeeze in the late 1970s, then built a parallel career as host of the BBC Two programme Later... with Jools Holland, which he has presented since 1992. Since 1987 he has led his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra - now a 19-piece ensemble - touring to audiences of over 300,000 a year and recording a multimillion-selling series of collaborative albums with guests including Sting, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart. He was awarded an OBE in 2003 for services to the British music industry.
