About

Joy is an Austrian euro-disco band formed in 1984 in Bad Aussee by Andy Schweitzer, Freddy Jaklitsch, and Manfred Temmel. Their 1985 single "Touch by Touch" topped the Austrian charts for 14 weeks, went gold in Austria, Portugal, and Spain, and remains a defining track of the European disco era. "Valerie" became a cult hit in Eastern Europe, reaching No. 3 in the USSR, while "Japanese Girls" drove massive popularity across Asia. After a long hiatus the original trio reunited in 2010, releasing the album Enjoy (2011); the band continues to perform at retro and disco festivals across Europe.
