About

Käärijä (born Jere Pöyhönen, 21 October 1993, Vantaa) is a Finnish rapper, singer and songwriter who shot to international fame at Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, where he finished second with 526 points - the best Finnish result since 2006 - after winning the public televote outright with "Cha Cha Cha". The song, which fuses rap, metal, electronic music and schlager, topped charts in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania, and became the first Finnish-language track ever to crack the UK Singles Chart top ten. Known for shirtless, high-voltage live shows and a genre-defying sound influenced by Rammstein, he has been releasing music since 2014 and put out his debut album Fantastista in 2020.
