About

Karussell is a German rock band from Leipzig, founded in April 1976 by keyboardist Wolf-Rüdiger Raschke - partly from members of the banned band Renft. Alongside Karat, City and the Puhdys, they rank among the most popular groups of the GDR era, known for melodic, lyrically thoughtful rock in German. After disbanding around 1989, the group was revived in 2007 on the initiative of Raschke's son Joe, and has been touring and releasing new material ever since.
