About
KMFDM is a Hamburg-based industrial rock band founded in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko as a performance art project in Paris. Blending heavy guitars, electronic beats and politically charged lyrics, they became one of the first European acts to break through on the American industrial scene - most notably via Chicago's Wax Trax! label in the late 1980s and 1990s. With 24 studio albums to their name and a lineup anchored by Konietzko and vocalist Lucia Cifarelli, the band has kept releasing and touring with near-annual regularity for over four decades.
