L'Âme Immortelle - Life will never be the same again
German darkwave duo L'Âme Immortelle perform at Kulttempel in Oberhausen.
L'Âme Immortelle (French: 'the immortal soul') is an Austrian darkwave duo formed in Vienna in 1996 by Thomas Rainer and Sonja Kraushofer, with Hannes Medwenitsch as a founding member who left in 2002. Their sound pairs Kraushofer's expressive soprano against Rainer's harsher vocals over atmospheric electronics, with lyrics in German and English exploring loss, longing, and existential themes. Over nearly three decades they have released fifteen studio albums on Trisol Records, moving between darkwave, Neue Deutsche Härte, and back again, and remain a fixture at major European gothic festivals.
L'Âme Immortelle released a new single 'Changes (Jubilee 2026 Remastered)', their latest release as of mid-2026.
L'Âme Immortelle performed on the final day of Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2025 in Leipzig (June 6-9), drawing a full crowd at the Agra venue.
The band played a headline show in Vienna at Escape Metalcorner on February 14, 2025, supported by Dunkelsucht.
L'Âme Immortelle released their fifteenth studio album 'Ungelebte Leben' on January 5, 2024 via Trisol Records.
The 'Ungelebte Leben Tour 2024' took the band across Germany, with dates in Oberhausen, Leipzig, Hannover, Flensburg, and Freiburg, including free fan meet-and-greets before each show.
