Life of Agony is an alternative metal band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 1989 by vocalist Mina Caputo, bassist Alan Robert, and guitarist Joey Zampella. Their 1993 debut River Runs Red - a raw collision of New York hardcore, groove metal, and grunge - was named by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest metal albums of all time and inducted into the Decibel Hall of Fame in 2005. The 1995 follow-up Ugly pushed the band into darker, more melodic territory and marked their first Billboard Top 200 entry. After several hiatuses and lineup changes, the band continues to tour actively, with drummer Veronica Bellino in the fold since 2018.
