Lyambiko - My Favorite Christmas Songs
Lyambiko performs her favorite Christmas songs at Konzerthaus Berlin.
Lyambiko (born Sandy Müller, 1978, Greiz, Thuringia) is a German jazz singer who adopted her Tanzanian father's surname as her stage name. She moved to Berlin in 1999, broke through at the A-Trane club in 2000 on a recommendation from Mark Murphy, and has since released over ten albums ranging from swing standards to soul ballads and original compositions. Her 2011 Echo Jazz award for National Singer of the Year - won for the album Something Like Reality - cemented her place at the top of the German jazz scene.
Lyambiko released Berlin-New York in collaboration with the WDR Funkhausorchester, exploring jazz and traditional pop standards by German composers from the 1930s-50s.
Lyambiko released Love Letters, an album of originals and standards inspired by letters from the 1930s written by her husband's grandfather.
