About
Mabel Matiz is the stage name of Fatih Karaca (born 31 August 1985, Mersin, Turkey), a singer-songwriter who blends Turkish pop with Anatolian folk, electronic production and alternative rock. He trained as a dentist before music took over, releasing his debut album in 2011 after producer Engin Akıncı spotted his Myspace demos. Five studio albums - including Maya (2018) and Fatih (2023) - have made him one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Turkish pop, known equally for his songwriting craft and his open advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights.
