Peter Maffay is a German rock singer and songwriter of Romanian origin, one of the best-selling artists in German music history. He broke through with the hit «Du» in the 1970s and has since released a string of albums that consistently topped the German charts. Outside music, he runs a foundation supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
