Magnus Öström (born 3 May 1965 in Skultuna, Sweden) is a drummer and composer who rose to international prominence as one third of the Esbjörn Svensson Trio (e.s.t.) - a group widely regarded as the most influential European jazz band of the 2000s. After pianist Esbjörn Svensson's death in 2008, Öström rebuilt his career as a solo artist and bandleader, winning the Echo Jazz award for Best International Drummer for his 2011 debut album 'Thread of Life'. He is also a founding member of Rymden, a Scandinavian piano trio with Bugge Wesseltoft and Dan Berglund.
Rymden announced a new album tour for autumn 2026, with further dates planned into 2027.
Rymden is currently touring across 4 countries with 12 upcoming concerts, including Hamburg and Koblenz.
Rymden is scheduled to perform at Gretchen club in Berlin on 5 October 2026 as part of the venue's 15th anniversary.
