Mamas Gun is a London-based five-piece soul band founded in 2007 by singer, songwriter and producer Andy Platts. Drawing on classic American R&B and soul from the 1960s and 70s, the band built an international following - particularly in Japan, where their 2009 debut Routes to Riches hit #3 on the Billboard chart and made them the most-played foreign act on Japanese radio. Six studio albums in, their 2026 release DIG! - recorded live to 16-track tape and featuring Gil Scott-Heron collaborator Brian Jackson - is widely regarded as their finest work yet.
