Maria Jarema (1908-1958) was a Polish painter and sculptor at the heart of the Kraków avant-garde. She co-founded the Krakowska Grupa and worked across abstraction and surrealism. Her late painting cycles - Zjawiska (Apparitions) and Wibracje (Vibrations) - are among the most significant works in postwar Polish art.
