María José Llergo (born 1994, Pozoblanco, Andalusia) is a Spanish singer who grew up absorbing flamenco from her grandfather in the fields of Córdoba before earning a scholarship to the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona. She weaves flamenco cante with electronic textures, R&B and soul into a sound that is rooted yet forward-looking. Her 2022 Goya Award for Best Original Song and her debut album Ultrabelleza (2023, Sony Music) established her as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Spanish music.
Llergo released the new single 'Bien de Amores' on 7 February 2025 via Sony Music, opening with a recording of her grandfather Pepe singing.
Following the Ultrabelleza cycle, Llergo described 'Bien de Amores' as a more introspective turn, focusing on self-love after looking outward for so long.
Llergo completed her first-ever US tour in March 2024, with seven dates including stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia.
Her debut full-length album Ultrabelleza was released in October 2023 on Sony Music, blending R&B, soul and electronic beats with flamenco.
Llergo won the Goya Award for Best Original Song at the 36th Goya Awards for 'Te Espera El Mar', from the film Mediterráneo.
