Mariza (born Marisa dos Reis Nunes, 16 December 1973 in Mozambique) is a Portuguese fado singer widely regarded as the genre's leading global voice of her generation. Raised in Lisbon's historic Mouraria and Alfama quarters, she broke through internationally with her 2001 debut Fado em Mim and has since accumulated over 50 platinum records, Grammy nominations, and collaborations with artists including Sting, Lenny Kravitz, and Cesária Évora. In 2024 she released her album Amor, marking 25 years of her career, and launched a world tour spanning some 35 countries.
