Mathame

About

Mathame are an Italian DJ and production duo - brothers Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli - who began making music together in 2013 while living on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Rooted in cinematic techno and melodic house, their sound draws on classical training (Amedeo studied violin for five years; Matteo went on to work as a film director) and blends sci-fi imagery with emotional club energy - a fusion they call 'EmoTech'. They rose to wider recognition through releases on Afterlife and a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix nomination in 2020, and released their debut album MEMO via Astralwerks in June 2023.
