Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are an American punk rock supergroup and cover band formed in San Francisco in 1995. Built around vocalist Spike Slawson (Swingin' Utters), the band has drawn on members from NOFX, Lagwagon, Foo Fighters and other punk staples, playing rapid-fire punk versions of pop, country and show-tune classics with a deliberately comic edge. Their debut album Have a Ball (1997) remains their best-selling record, and the band has released material on Fat Mike's Fat Wreck Chords throughout their career. In April 2025, co-founders Fat Mike and Spike announced that the touring band would go forward under the name Spike and the Gimme Gimmes.
Co-founders Fat Mike and Spike announced on April 21, 2025 that the touring band would henceforth be called Spike and the Gimme Gimmes, with Spike Slawson continuing as lead vocalist and Fat Mike stepping away from touring.
Spike and the Gimme Gimmes launched their 'Wet Hot American Summer' US tour in July 2025, featuring a rotating lineup that includes Jake Kiley (Strung Out), CJ Ramone, John Reis and Stacey Dee.
The band released ¡Blow it…at Madison's Quinceañera!, a live album recorded at an actual quinceañera party in San Diego in July 2023, their first release in 20 years.
The band played the Download Festival (Donington Park, UK) and Greenfield Festival (Interlaken, Switzerland) in June 2025 as part of their European festival run.
The band performed at the Wels, Austria festival in May 2025, continuing their European appearances ahead of the US summer tour.
