About

Michael League is an American bassist, composer, and producer best known as the founder and bandleader of Snarky Puppy, the genre-crossing collective he started as a student at the University of North Texas in 2004. Under his leadership the band has won five Grammy Awards, spanning R&B and contemporary instrumental categories. Beyond Snarky Puppy, League runs the GroundUP Music label and festival, and has produced records for artists including David Crosby, Youssou N'Dour, and Susana Baca from his studio in Catalonia, Spain.
