Michael Wendler - Back to the Wendler
Michael Wendler returns with the concert "Back to the Wendler" in Oberhausen.
Michael Wendler (born 1972 in Dinslaken) is a German Schlager singer who broke through in 1998 and built his name on danceable party hits, most notably "Sie liebt den DJ". Over his career he collected six gold records and one platinum, and also writes songs for other Schlager artists under the pen name Mic Skowy. During the COVID-19 pandemic he drew widespread criticism for spreading conspiracy theories, which led to his removal from the RTL talent-show jury and the cancellation of multiple planned concerts; since 2025 he has been attempting a stage comeback.
Wendler announced two 2026 concert series in Germany: "Michael Wendler - Live 2026" and "Michael Wendler - Back to the Wendler", with shows in Oberhausen.
Wendler performed a comeback show at the Megapark on Mallorca on 11 September 2025, with the venue securing exclusive rights for 2026 as well.
Wendler released the album "UNFASSBAR STARK" in March 2025 and used his Mallorca comeback to promote it.
After years of cancelled shows, Wendler performed his first public concert in roughly five years in June 2025.
Wendler's planned appearance at the Beelitzer Schlagernacht was cancelled following public protests, continuing a pattern of concert cancellations since the pandemic.
