Midge Ure (born James Ure, 10 October 1953, Cambuslang, Scotland) is a Scottish singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer who rose to prominence as the frontman of new wave band Ultravox. He co-wrote and produced the 1984 Band Aid charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" with Bob Geldof - one of the best-selling singles in UK chart history - and co-organised the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium in 1985. His solo debut single "If I Was" reached number one in the UK in 1985, and he was awarded an OBE in 2005 for services to music and charity.
