
MONATIK - UKR FEST
Ukrainian artist MONATIK performs at the UKR FEST festival in Frankfurt am Main.
MONATIK (born Dmytro Serhiiovych Monatyk, 1 April 1986, Lutsk) is a Ukrainian singer, songwriter, dancer, and composer whose music blends pop, funk, and R&B. He rose to prominence as a solo artist with the 2016 album "Звучит" and its breakout single "Кружит", and opened the first semi-final of Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv. Known for his breakdance roots and elaborately choreographed live shows, he has toured across Ukraine, Europe, and North America.
By spring 2023, MONATIK translated his Russian-language repertoire into Ukrainian and embarked on a tour across 22 cities in Ukraine.
In July 2022, MONATIK released the military-themed EP "ART Oborona", featuring poetic monologues and songs responding to the full-scale war in Ukraine.
MONATIK completed a North American tour in 2024, with proceeds from charity concerts directed to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
MONATIK opened the first semi-final of Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv on 9 May with an English-language version of "Кружит" titled "Spinning".
At the YUNA 2017 awards, MONATIK's album "Звучит" was named album of the year.
