MONO is a Japanese instrumental post-rock band formed in Tokyo in 1999, consisting of guitarists Takaakira 'Taka' Goto and Hideki 'Yoda' Suematsu, bassist Tamaki Kunishi, and drummer Dahm Majuri Cipolla. Their music weaves orchestral arrangements into walls of shoegaze guitar noise, producing a sound that NME once called 'music for the Gods'. Over 25 years and 13 studio albums - from the landmark Hymn to the Immortal Wind (2009) to the freshly released Snowdrop (2026) - the band has toured more than 60 countries and built a reputation as one of the most powerful live acts in rock.
