Monolord is a Swedish stoner/doom metal trio from Gothenburg, formed in 2013 by guitarist-vocalist Thomas Jäger, drummer Esben Willems, and bassist Mika Häkki. Their run of five albums on Relapse Records - from Empress Rising (2014) through Your Time to Shine (2021) - built them a devoted international following through relentless touring and a signature sound of crushing, fuzz-drenched riffs and hypnotic grooves. In 2026 they released Neverending, their sixth album, produced by Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down), marking a creative step toward more dynamic and groove-driven territory.
