Monsters of Liedermaching are a German collective of six singer-songwriters who have performed together since forming spontaneously at Hamburg's Rockspektakel festival in 2003. Rather than a conventional band, each member brings his own songs to the stage while the others back him up - a format they call Liedermaching. Their material moves between acoustic punk, folk and cabaret, with sharp, humorous lyrics at the centre of everything. They are widely regarded as the originators of the collective Liedermacher format in German-speaking rock.
