Mykki Blanco (born Michael David Quattlebaum Jr., April 2, 1986, Orange County, California) is an American rapper, performance artist, poet, and activist who helped define queer rap as a genre in the early 2010s. Starting out in New York's underground scene with poetry and performance art, Blanco built a discography that pulls from punk, riot grrrl, trap, and experimental club music - all while openly addressing their HIV-positive status and transfeminine identity. Collaborators range from Kanye West and Charli XCX to Michael Stipe and ANOHNI, and in 2022 Blanco completed a Master of Fine Arts in Switzerland before returning to music.
