About

Nachtmahr is the Vienna-based industrial and EBM project of Austrian musician Thomas Rainer, who launched it in 2007 alongside his long-running darkwave duo L'Âme Immortelle. Drawing on years of DJ residency at Club Pi in Vienna, Rainer built Nachtmahr around hard techno beats, confrontational militaristic imagery and German-language lyrics - a sound he calls 'Imperial Austrian Industrial'. The debut album Feuer Frei! (2008) broke into the top 10 of the Deutsche Alternative Charts, and the follow-up Alle Lust will Ewigkeit reached #1 in both the single and album DAC rankings.
