Nino Haratishvili is a Georgian-German writer and theatre director who writes primarily in German. Her novel Das achte Leben (Für Brilka), an epic saga following a Georgian family through the twentieth century, brought her wide international recognition. Her prose is known for its sweeping scope and deep engagement with historical trauma.
