About

Nits (formerly The Nits) are a Dutch art-pop group founded in Amsterdam in 1974, built around singer-lyricist Henk Hofstede and drummer Rob Kloet. Over more than 25 studio albums they have moved restlessly between new wave, chamber pop and experimental rock, earning a devoted following across the Netherlands, Belgium and continental Europe. Their 1987 single "In the Dutch Mountains" broke them internationally, while the live triple-LP Urk (1989) remains their best-selling record.
