Olaf der Flipper

About

Olaf der Flipper (born Olaf Malolepski, 27 March 1946 in Magdeburg) is a German Schlager singer who spent over four decades as frontman of Die Flippers - one of the most commercially successful bands in German music history, with more than 60 million records sold and over 65 gold and platinum awards. After the band's farewell in 2011, he launched a solo career under the name Olaf der Flipper, scoring immediate chart success and a second viral comeback in 2022 when the old Flippers track 'Wir sagen Dankeschön' exploded on social media and landed him on the stages of Rock am Ring and Parookaville. In 2026, now 80 years old, he released his tenth solo album 'Weltklasse' and set out on an eleven-date birthday tour across Germany.
