About

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (3 December 1948 - 22 July 2025) was an English singer and songwriter who co-founded Black Sabbath in Birmingham in 1968, helping shape the sound of heavy metal. Fired from the band in 1979, he rebuilt his career as a solo artist - releasing 13 studio albums, selling over 100 million records in total, and earning a second Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2024 for his solo work alone. His final performance came on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park in Birmingham, a farewell concert with the original Black Sabbath lineup watched by more than 40,000 people in the stadium and 5.8 million via livestream.
