Pablo Ferrández (born 1991 in Madrid) is a Spanish cellist and exclusive Sony Classical artist, widely regarded as one of the most compelling soloists of his generation. He trained at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Natalia Shakhovskaya - herself a student of Rostropovich - and later at the Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson, also holding a scholarship from the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. A prizewinner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, he performs regularly with the world's leading orchestras and plays a 1689 Stradivarius 'Archinto' on lifetime loan from the Stretton Society.
