Autumn festival Herbstgold 2026 at Schloss Esterhazy in Eisenstadt.
Pablo Ferrández (born 1991 in Madrid) is a Spanish cellist and exclusive Sony Classical artist, widely regarded as one of the most compelling soloists of his generation. He trained at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Natalia Shakhovskaya - herself a student of Rostropovich - and later at the Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson, also holding a scholarship from the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. A prizewinner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, he performs regularly with the world's leading orchestras and plays a 1689 Stradivarius 'Archinto' on lifetime loan from the Stretton Society.
Ferrández released 'Moonlight Variations' on Sony Classical, featuring Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra under Martin Fröst and pianist Julien Quentin.
Ferrández is artist-in-residence at both the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra for the 2025-26 season.
The 2025-26 season includes a trio tour with Anne-Sophie Mutter and Yefim Bronfman, with concerts in Munich, Hamburg, Geneva, Zurich, Paris, and Barcelona.
Ferrández makes his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in the 2025-26 season, alongside first appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington DC), Toronto Symphony, and the Tsinandali Festival Symphony under Zubin Mehta.
Ferrández made his New York City recital debut at the 92nd Street Y on January 26, 2025, performing with pianist Julio Elizalde.
