HYPE RAP FEST II in the Tri-City
Poland's biggest rap festival returns with scene legends: Paktofonika Orkiestra, Paluch, Słoń, Tede, and DJ Soina performing on one stage.
Paktofonika Orkiestra is the live-band concert project built around Fokus (Wojciech Alszer) and Rahim (Sebastian Salbert), the surviving members of Paktofonika - the cult Katowice hip-hop group whose 2000 debut album 'Kinematografia' became a landmark of Polish rap. After nearly two decades of silence, the duo returned to the stage in 2022 and launched the 'REtrospekcje' format: classic Paktofonika tracks rearranged for a full live band under the musical direction of award-winning pianist and composer Tymoteusz Bies. The project draws on one of the most emotionally charged catalogues in Polish music history, shaped by the tragic death of co-founder Magik just eight days after 'Kinematografia' was released.
Paktofonika Orkiestra performed alongside Molesta Ewenement and Eldo at an outdoor stage in Bydgoszcz on 29 May 2026.
A Paktofonika Orkiestra concert with a full orchestra was announced for Lębork on 25 July 2026, billed as an extension of the REtrospekcje project.
The REtrospekcje project marked the 25th anniversary of 'Kinematografia' with a nationwide tour of amphitheatres, featuring new orchestral arrangements led by pianist Tymoteusz Bies.
Paktofonika Orkiestra performed at Pol'and'Rock Festival 2024, where the concert drew a record audience of over 500,000 listeners.
After more than 20 years, Fokus and Rahim reactivated the Paktofonika project with a concert at Spodek in Katowice, which sold out and triggered the ongoing live-band touring format.
