Paul Carrack (born 22 April 1951, Sheffield) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose voice has driven some of the biggest pop-soul hits of the past five decades. He rose to prominence fronting Ace in the mid-1970s, then lent his vocals to Squeeze and Mike + The Mechanics before building a prolific independent solo career on his own Carrack-UK label. The BBC dubbed him "The Man with the Golden Voice" - a title his work with Roger Waters, Eric Clapton, Elton John and Ringo Starr does nothing to contradict.
