Paul Rodgers (born 17 December 1949 in Middlesbrough, England) is a British-Canadian rock singer-songwriter widely regarded as one of the finest vocalists in rock history - his fans call him simply 'The Voice'. He fronted Free in the late 1960s and early 1970s, co-writing the global No. 1 'All Right Now', then founded Bad Company in 1973, whose run of classic-rock staples made them one of the biggest acts of the album-rock era. He later sang with Queen as Queen + Paul Rodgers, and in 2025 Bad Company were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Rodgers publicly addressed health rumors, stating he feels 'fit and strong', after Alex Van Halen revealed Rodgers had declined to sing on a posthumous Van Halen album project.
Bad Company were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 8 November 2025 in Los Angeles; Rodgers was unable to attend due to health concerns and sent a taped acceptance speech, with Bryan Adams performing in his place.
The tribute album 'Can't Get Enough: A Tribute to Bad Company', featuring Slash, Halestorm, Hardy and others covering the band's classics, was released; Rodgers and Simon Kirke both appear on the record.
Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs, a founding member of the band, died on 23 June 2025 at the age of 81.
Rodgers released 'Midnight Rose', his first album of original solo material in nearly 25 years, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard charts.
