About

Perturbator is the solo project of Parisian musician James Kent, active since 2012. Working at the intersection of synthwave, darksynth and industrial, he draws on the aesthetics of 1980s horror films and cyberpunk cinema - from Blade Runner to Akira. Albums like Dangerous Days (2014) and The Uncanny Valley (2016) built his cult following, while his 2025 Nuclear Blast debut Age of Aquarius pushed his sound toward post-punk and industrial metal, featuring collaborations with Ulver, Alcest and Author & Punisher.

Perturbator was announced as a support act for HEALTH's six-date Australian headline tour in September 2026, covering Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Fremantle.

Perturbator completed a 25-date European & UK headline tour in November-December 2025, playing his largest venues to date with support from Kælan Mikla and GosT.
