Peter Alexander (1926-2011) was a Viennese singer, actor, pianist and entertainer who became one of the most popular performers in the German-speaking world from the mid-1950s through the 1990s. He starred in 39 film comedies, scored more than 38 Top-Ten hits in Germany alone, and hosted the long-running Peter Alexander Show on ZDF/ORF from 1963 to 1996. After his death, Media Control Charts named him the biggest singles artist in German chart history, with 459 charted songs.
