Publikumsbeschimpfung (Offending the Audience) is a 1966 play by Austrian dramatist Peter Handke. Four speakers address the audience directly, dismantling theatrical convention - no plot, no characters, just language turned on the spectators themselves. It became a landmark provocation of 1960s German-language theatre.
