PUR is a German pop-rock band from Bietigheim-Bissingen in Baden-Württemberg, founded in 1975 under the name Crusade by Roland Bless and Ingo Reidl. Fronted by singer Hartmut Engler, the band broke through in the 1990s with German-language hits like "Lena" and the album "Abenteuerland", which sold over two million copies and became one of the best-selling German-language albums of all time. With ten number-one albums and over 12 million records sold, PUR ranks among the most successful German pop acts of the past four decades.
