Rafet El Roman (born Rafet Yaşdut, 25 August 1968 in Uzunköprü, Edirne) is a Turkish pop singer, songwriter, and actor who has held German citizenship since growing up in Germany after his family emigrated there in the early 1970s. He launched his recording career in Turkey in 1995 with the debut album Gençliğin Gözyaşı, which sold over 800,000 copies, and has since released more than 13 studio albums built around heartfelt romantic ballads. His 2008 duet "Aşk-ı Virane" with Yusuf Güney topped the Turkish charts for 16 weeks - the most successful single of that year - and his YouTube channel has accumulated over 518 million views.
