Recondite is the alias of Lorenz Brunner, a German techno producer and label owner born in Rottal-Inn, Lower Bavaria, who moved to Berlin in 2009. Growing up surrounded by forests and rural landscapes shaped his signature sound - contemplative, melancholic tracks that blur the lines between ambient, deep house and acid techno. He founded Plangent Records in 2011 and has released albums on Ghostly International, Hotflush, Innervisions and Afterlife, building a catalogue that consistently resists genre extremes.
Recondite released SHMR003 'Lumina' on Plangent Records, the third instalment of his ongoing Shimmer singles series.
The second Shimmer Series single, 'Ens Lucis' (SHMR002), was released on Plangent Records on 5 December 2025.
Recondite launched the SHMR (Shimmer) singles series on Plangent Records with the debut track 'Kais', a cycle planned to culminate in a full album in 2026.
Recondite collaborated with the duo Two Lanes on the single 'Luna', released on TWO LANES Music.
Recondite released his album 'Indifferent' on Plangent Records on 18 October 2024, with a release party at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event).
