Rhapsody of Fire is an Italian symphonic power metal band founded in Trieste in 1993 by guitarist Luca Turilli and keyboardist Alex Staropoli - originally under the name Thundercross, then Rhapsody, before adopting the current name in 2006 due to trademark issues. Widely credited as pioneers of the symphonic power metal subgenre, the band built their sound around neoclassical orchestrations, operatic choirs and epic fantasy storytelling across a continuous multi-album saga. Their first five albums sold over one million copies combined, and in 2004 actor Christopher Lee contributed narration and vocals to their recording 'The Magic of the Wizard's Dream'. Now led by Staropoli alongside vocalist Giacomo Voli, the band released their fourteenth studio album 'Challenge the Wind' in May 2024 via AFM Records.
Rhapsody of Fire announced a North American headline tour for September 2025, celebrating the 25th anniversary of 'Dawn of Victory', with support from Enforcer, Witherfall and Striker.
The band played Vienna and Munich as part of their 'Challenge the Wind' European Tour 2024, which also took in Bratislava, Zlín and Košice.
