Richard Vardigans is a British pianist, conductor and music educator who trained in London and Birmingham before studying conducting on a DAAD scholarship at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin and with Franco Ferrara at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. He has worked for over 35 years as a pianist and conductor, including as general music director of the Erzgebirgische Theater und Orchester GmbH, and has recorded for the BBC and Dutch Radio. His "Opera differently" series presents operatic masterworks solo at the piano, combining musical insight with dry English wit.
