A musical-literary evening celebrating Rio Reiser, the iconic German artist and frontman of Ton Steine Scherben, performed by Peter Schneider and Julia Zabolitzki.
Rio Reiser (born Ralph Christian Möbius, 9 January 1950 - 20 August 1996) was a German rock singer, lyricist and composer, best known as the frontman of West Berlin band Ton Steine Scherben, which he led from 1970 until its dissolution in 1985. The band pioneered German-language rock with sharply political lyrics and became a musical voice of the squatting and new-left movements in Berlin. As a solo artist he scored his biggest hit with "König von Deutschland" (1986); he was also one of the first openly gay rock musicians in Germany. He died at 46 in Fresenhagen from complications of hepatitis C.
