About
Robyn Hitchcock is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in London in 1953, who first came to prominence leading the art-rock band the Soft Boys (1976-81) and their landmark 1980 album Underwater Moonlight. His solo career spans more than two dozen records, marked by surrealist lyrics, neo-psychedelic guitar work, and a dry wit that has earned him cult status across several generations of musicians. Songs of his have been covered by R.E.M., Neko Case, Gillian Welch, and others; he now lives in Nashville with his wife, the singer-songwriter Emma Swift.
