About

Rotting Christ is a Greek extreme metal band founded in Athens in 1987 by brothers Sakis Tolis (vocals, guitar) and Themis Tolis (drums). Widely regarded as one of the architects of Hellenic black metal, the duo has released 14 studio albums over nearly four decades, gradually moving from raw black metal toward a melodic, atmospheric style enriched with choral arrangements, ancient mythology and multilingual lyrics. Their 2024 album Pro Xristou charted on the U.S. Billboard Hard Rock chart, confirming their standing well beyond the underground.
