About

Roxette is a Swedish pop-rock duo founded in 1986 by songwriter Per Gessle and vocalist Marie Fredriksson (1958-2019). Their 1988 breakthrough album Look Sharp! launched four US Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles - "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love" and "Joyride" - and the duo went on to sell between 75 and 80 million records worldwide, making them Sweden's best-selling act after ABBA. Following Fredriksson's death in December 2019, Gessle reformed the band in 2025 with Swedish singer Lena Philipsson on lead vocals, continuing to tour the classic catalogue.
