Ryan Adams (born November 5, 1974, Jacksonville, NC) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer who first came to prominence as the frontman of alt-country band Whiskeytown before launching a prolific solo career spanning rock, country, and folk. His debut solo album Heartbreaker (2000) and its follow-up Gold (2001) are widely regarded as modern Americana classics, and he has since released over 20 studio albums on his own PAX AM label. A seven-time Grammy nominee, he has also produced records for Willie Nelson, Jesse Malin, and Jenny Lewis.
