Sam Gendel is an American saxophonist and composer based in Los Angeles, known for blending jazz, ambient and electronic textures into something hard to pin down. He plays saxophone alongside wind controllers and has collaborated with artists including Ry Cooder, Laurie Anderson, Perfume Genius and Moses Sumney. His solo records and duo work with bassist Sam Wilkes have earned him a devoted following in experimental music circles.
